Government Crackdown on Fake Ration Cards – April 2025 Notification
In a strong move to clean the system, the government has announced the following:
- All ration cards will now be linked with digital identity (Aadhaar)
- ₹10,000 fine for possessing duplicate ration cards
- Cards containing names of deceased beneficiaries may be temporarily blocked
